An Unrealistic Land

Grace Hawkins

Acrylic on board, 594mm × 841mm

The piece of work I have created called ‘’An unrealistic land’’ shows an abstract landscape painted with acrylic along with gloss mediums. It’s bold eye catching colour and shapes wouldn’t exist in reality. My work has been influenced by the artist Takashi Murakami. I have been inspired by the colours, patterns and boldness of Murakami’s work even though they aren’t alike.

This piece of work is an extension to a previous work, by doing this I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to try something new, as I usually prefer more classic landscapes I’m hoping be more confident in trying different techniques and styles of working to broaden my skills and ideas
